APPLICATION PROCEEDURES

The Academy strives to steer students to a defined design and fashion profile. We look out for talented,
intelligent, ambitious students who are prepared to put their best efforts to build a fulfilling career. We nurture young people with all-round abilities who sow the energy, the potential and the commitment to be the industry captains of tomorrow. So when we are assessing you, we will be particularly evaluating your career focus, your creative and aesthetic sense, your level of commitment and energy, your potential as a team member, your ability to handle stress, and of course your communication skills. For this purpose every applicant whose eligibility as proven and passes through screening methods and an interview will be enrolled.

LegsApparel Fashion School Admission Acceptance and Requirements.
The students must send the complete application form and wait for the confirmation of eligibility. If students are eligible, open spots will be reserved and then confirmed after the payment of the school fee. Spaces are limited on first come first serve basis, therefore we suggest students to complete application process as soon as possible. Also the student must qualify to speak English, which is the taught language, in order to enroll in the courses.

Admission

There is no admission requirement for the programs of LegsApparel Academy, but it is highly recommended that students attend an orientation interview after applying. During the interview we will give you detailed information on all our programmes, and define better which programme most suits you and discuss present and future job opportunities

When to apply

In order to maximize the quality of conditions for both instructor and students, we limit programme enrolment to a specific number. Enrolments to each programme are awarded depending on availability of places.

Waiting List

A number of programmes may become full. In such an event, it is possible for potential students to put their names on a waiting list with no further obligation. The Admission officer will contact the students on the
waiting list as soon as a place becomes available.

Exams

At the beginning of each programme, students will receive an Academic Booklet, which will include all the topics to be covered during the Academic period. Oral exams, which consist of interviews with the students’ course instructor, will be held at the end of each month. In order to take each exam, students must have attended at least 80% of their classes.

Course Fees

Please note that all sewing materials are supplied FREE of charge to Basic and Intermediary students ONLY. Free fabrics will also be given for the first Three projects.

    • Lessons are scheduled from Mondays to Fridays for Basic, Intermediary and Advanced classes. Every lecture last 4 hours.

    • Weekend classes for Workers are

Basic program is N105, 000

Duration: 3 months

This can be paid in two installments at the beginning of each month. The first installment must be 70% of total fee.

Intermediary program is N190, 000

Duration: 3 months

This can be paid in two installments at the beginning of each month. The first installment must be 70% of total fee.

Advanced program is N250, 000

Duration: 3 months

This can only be paid at once; at the beginning of the starting month.

The tuition fees for the specialized programs are as follows ;

Pattern Making & Drafting N120,000
Fashion Computer aided design N180,000
Fashion Entrepreneurship N100,000
Sustainable Fashion N100,000

If starting date of class is within 30 days after the application date, both enrollment fee and course fee must be paid as soon as possible after sending the application.

Payment Refund Policies
For Enrolment fee N5000, no refunds will be issued.
For Course fee, course cancellation 30 days before starting course date – 100% refund.
For Course fee, course cancellation 15 days before starting course date – 50% refund.
For Course fee, course cancellation 7 days before starting course date – no refunds will be issued.
Please Note: The percentage of course refunds includes the bank transaction fee.
Cancellation date is counted from the day the cancellation e-mail is sent.
The cancellation of the course must be notified via registered e-mail.

Certificates
LegsApparel academy, issues Certificates at the successful completion of Course Programmes. The value of Certificates issued by LegsApparel academy, whose teaching programmes are highly specialized and exclusive, mainly lies in the reputation that the school has built over time.

You must ensure that your application form reaches LegsApparel Academy, Abuja by mail or courier or in person at the following address latest by the stipulated date & time stated. You will normally be communicated to by e-mail or telephone, so you are advised to state your contact details very clearly on the application form.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION

The duly filled application form is to be submitted at the Academy’s counter at Abuja, Port Harcourt or Lagos only within the prescribed time lines. In case the application form is downloaded from the Academy’s website, the application fee is to be paid as follows:

a) By Cash (Only at LegsApparel Academy Centre): The application fee of N5,000 is paid in cash only at LegsApparel Academy centre at the time of submission of application form by hand.

After we have received the application and have confirmed with your eligibility, we Will send you the information necessary for course fee payment.
Step 3: Payment and Confirmation

  • If starting date of class is within 30 days after the application date, both enrollment fee and course fee must be paid as soon as possible after application process.

General conditions to the enrollment in the Programs

LEGSAPPAREL

1. For the purpose of these general terms and conditions, LegsApparel Fashion School shall be referred to as ‘the Academy’.

2. The enrollment fee is payable upon registration and the Tuition fee is payable not less than 30 days before the start of the relevant course. Payment can be made only in cash or bank deposit to the account indicated by the Academy. The Academy will issue the student with a confirmation of payment, but, in case of bank payment, only upon receipt by the academy of confirmation from its bank. The academy may at its sole discretion, exclude from any course and/or examinations any registered student who fails to pay the applicable tuition fee within the period stated above or any other period that may be agreed with the Academy.

3. The enrollment fee is not refundable unless the Academy decides not to grant the student a place on the relevant course. Cancellation will only be accepted if made in writing to the Academy. If cancellation occurs not less than 60 days prior to the start of the relevant course, the Academy shall refund 100% of the tuition fee, 80% of the tuition fee will be refunded if cancellation occurs not less than 30days prior to the start of the relevant course; If cancellation occurs at any time thereafter, no part of the Tuition fee will be refunded.

4. Specific information such as the duration of the courses shall be communicated to the student upon registration. Examinations must be taken at the end of the relevant course. No student, that misses classes, shall be allowed to take examinations after the end of the relevant course and the Academy shall not in this case issue any final certificate of attendance or final diploma to the student.

5. Attendance is compulsory. No student shall be allowed to take examinations unless he/she attended at least 80% of the lessons. No final certificate shall be issued unless students maintain the required record until the end of the course and achieves the required pass mark in the examinations.

6. By enrolling on any course offered by the academy, students agree to comply fully with the disciplinary rules of the Academy as this represents a condition of the agreement between students and the Academy. Compliance with the disciplinary rules shall involve a good attendance record, a rigorous respect of the schedule of lessons and a responsible attitude towards the staff of the academy and any equipment within the academy allows students to use. Failure to adhere fully to these rules may result in disciplinary measures being taken against the offending student (which for the avoidance of doubt may involve the expulsion of the student from the relevant course). To the fullest extent permitted by the Nigerian law, the institute reserves the right to claim damages in relation to any loss caused by the student.

7. Courses are organized according to the schedules, dates and programs established by the teachers appointed by the academy, which reserves the right , at any time, to amend any aspect of the course as may be necessary

8. The examination papers together with any material produced by the students during the examinations (materials) shall be deemed to be the property of the academy. Students hereby assign by the way of future assignment all copyrights arising in the material and in particular allow the academy to exhibit, reproduce and/or publish such material.

9. No variation to this agreement shall be valid unless agreed in writing between the parties.

10. With regard to Nigerian law concerning the protection of personal data, students agrees to the academy processing the personal data contained on this form or other personal data which the academy may obtain from students or third parties from time to time (including any sensitive personal data as defined in the law), for any purpose connected with their studies and for the purposes of the administration and management of the academy, its business and students and for compliance with applicable laws, procedures and regulations. This data shall be retained and processed in accordance with the law.

11. Each program’s duration last for 3 months. Any student that fails to complete studies within 3 months may (in writing) request for a one month extension grace period. Extensions will only be permitted on merit basis. After the grace period, any student that still fails to complete the program will be asked to pay another tuition as penalty charge.

12. The construction, interpretation and performance of this agreement are governed by Nigerian law and the parties hereby agree that the Nigerian courts in Nigeria shall have the sole jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of this agreement.
